Biography
Prof. Jayakar Thomas, formerly Professor and Head of Dermatology, Thanjavur
Medical College, Thanjavur, India is currently the Senior Consultant Dermatologist
at Apollo Hospitals and KK Childs Trust Hospital, Chennai, India.
With more than 25 years of post-graduate teaching experience he has published
around 250 original articles in Indian and International Journals.
He was awarded Ph.D. for his work on ‘Topical therapy in the Tropics’
apart from several awards for his contribution and achievements in the field
of Dermatology (notably, the Mother Teresa Excellence Award).
His fields of interest include Pediatric Dermatology, Acne, Bacterial dermatoses,
Atopic dermatitis, Hair disorders, and Teledermatology.
