Professional Biography

Dr. Bhawan is currently Professor of Dermatology and Pathology and Head of the Dermatopathology Section at Boston University School of Medicine. He is also the director of the Dermatopathology training program, vice –chair, department of dermatology and Director of Skin Pathology Laboratory (www.skinpathlab.com).

He is a member of the AAD, Fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology, the International Society of Dermatopathology and the International Pigment Cell Society. He has published over 160 original articles, several book chapters and recently co-authored an interactive dermatopathology atlas on CD-ROM. Dr. Bhawan serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Dermatopathology and board of directors of the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Dr. Bhawan was the President of the American Society of Dermatopathology (2001-2002). He has helped create two endowed professorships and two endowed international training fellowships in dermatopathology at Boston University School of Medicine.
